It's been several months since any ground shaking changes have been made to our website. Simply put, we've been planning and preparing for more big changes coming in 2009. Here's what to expect to see coming to missionmax.org this upcoming year:
- A new look. As you may have already noticed, our logo has changed. We're on a mission folks! Time is running out and the urgency of red with a bit of a stencil logo helps to emphasize such an urgency. The color scheme of the site is also changing here in March in efforts to make content a bit more emphasized and less distracting by a soft color scheme. We're short of a graphic web designer, so bear with us as we work on the look and feel of the site and what works best.
- Photo Manager: We receive pictures from those on the front lines quite regularly. We want to enable YOU as the user/ministry to be able to broadcast these photo images through a ministry page. A photo "slider" to display multiple images on a single article/page is also in the works.
- The calendar module will be made available for ministries to post your upcoming events. Very similar to what is seen on the front page of our site. Everyone should have one of these.
- News feed page for ministries. These news pages will also have individual RSS feeds so that users can subscribe to any news your ministry may have. Each ministry will have their own feed which users may subscribe to keep up to date on what your ministry is currently doing.
- A more comprehensive member and ministry directory for easier networking.
- On site feed. As you subscribe or friend others on the site, you will be able to update/read user status. Very similar to Facebook or Twitter, but more oriented toward ministry news.
- Topic Forums. This was actually on the plan for '08, but unfortunately we were not quite able to get to it due to more pressing needs in the ministry. We hope to bring forums to the site as an excellent way for people and ministries to network.
